Understanding Tiles and Tiling Training Courses
The New Zealand Tile Council welcomes our members and their staff to our exclusive "Understanding Tiles and Tiling" Training Course and our Advanced training course.
These courses (based on the Australian Tile Council's Tiles And Tiling Guide from which the New Zealand Tiles and Tiling Guide was developed) are aimed at giving those in frontline sales or specification, as well as anyone who is dealing with the public, or has a need or desire to understand tiles and tiling, the necessary information and knowledge to understand and answer all of the relevant questions about tiles and tiling.
The courses provide a valuable training tool for new entrants to the industry but also an excellent refresher for existing staff.
The courses cover the following topics:
These topics have been based on the New Zealand Tile Council's Tiles and Tiling Guide, highly regarded in the industry as the major technical reference document for all matters related to our products and their installation.
Each section of the course comes with an introduction - a short read to prepare you for what's to come, and advise you of how to progress.
Then you'll be asked to watch a short video, with the content matching the module in the Guide. You will be able to pause or go back to revisit any part of each video in order to help you fully understand the video.
After viewing the video, you will be given multiple choice questions based on what you have just watched. If you get them right, you can move on to the next module. If not, you will need to attempt the questions once again before moving on.
The content is informative, educational, and allows you to work at your own pace.
Feel Free to refer to the Tiles and Tiling Guide on the NZTC website to use as a reference at any time.
Each course can be completed in either one session or over multiple sessions.
New industry entrants are encouraged to undertake each course over multiple sessions, module by module, allowing time between each module to digest the information from that module before moving on.
It is recommended that the advanced course only be undertaken by people who have been in the industry for at least 6 months.
Once every module of each course is completed, you will be provided with an New Zealand Tile Council certificate that you have passed that course.
For convenience each course is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
National Members and Full Members (Company and Staff) can have multiple staff participants. However, Associate members and Full Member (Sole Trader) are limited to one participant. If you are a current Associate Member or Full Member (Sole Trader), you can upgrade your membership from your My Account page.
