Formed in March 2024, the New Zealand Tile Council’s Technical Committee’s purpose is to review the suite of technical collateral (from the Australian Tile Council resources) and amend as appropriate to New Zealand Standards and Conditions.
Technical documents like the Tile and Tiling guide will be annually reviewed in conjunction with our Australian counterparts.
The Technical Committee will field technical suggestions and requests from members and prioritise the delivery of technical collateral on the website to deliver the greatest value to members.
Members are invited to join the Technical Committee to give the working group representation and perspective from a broad range of skills and disciplines across the industry. They meet every three months but regularly discuss and review, update and create our technical collateral in between meetings.
Update June 2024:
The review of the tiles and tiling guide is currently well in progress. We have had our first couple of meetings and are progressing a section at a time with corrections and suggested additions. An example for the need in keeping this document relevant is the recent updated AS ISO 13006-2020 having included separate manufacturing sizing tolerances for rectified tiles.
